Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians (PAARL) in partnership with Ex Libris invites you to the 4th Marina G. Dayrit Lecture Series entitled "The Shift to Online-Based Education: How Libraries Can Support Faculty and Students Adapt to Online Learning," taking place on Wednesday, September 30th from 10AM-12PM Manila Time.

The Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) in partnership with EBSCO is pleased to announce the first webinar for Marina G. Dayrit Lecture Series this year entitled "Leading the Libraries in Times of Crisis: Transforming Challenges to Opportunities on June 24, 2020, 10:00-11:30 A.M.

Over the past several months, our country has witnessed unprecedented tragedies owing to natural and human causes. The most recent one is the COVID-19 Pandemic. These disasters have had a far-reaching impact on our global and local libraries and information centers.

 

This webinar will attempt to examine the different crises and their impact. Participants will learn from the current practices of librarians and administrators in managing their libraries to cope with the prevailing challenges. From this, you will gain insight on the qualities and roles of leaders who developed measures to accommodate their constituents' information needs during this time.

Join us and learn from our panel, who will consist of three leaders in the field of librarianship, as they share how they were able to transform their challenges into opportunities amid natural disasters and economic, political, technological, and health crises.

Notice is hereby served that the Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) will hold its Online 48th General Assembly on 29th of January 2021, with the following agenda:

  3. Determination of Quorum
  4. President’s Report
  5. Presentation of the 2019 Audited Financial Statements
  6. Ratification of the Acts and Resolutions of the 2020 Executive Board
  7. Appointment of External Auditor

The formal Induction of the new Executive Board and its Officers for 2021 and the Awarding Ceremonies will be held immediately after the General Assembly.

2020 PAARLNet Convention

The Philippine Association of Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. (PAARL) will hold the 2020 PAARLNet Convention with the theme “Modern Technology Applications in Libraries” on 15th October 2020. The PAARLNet Convention is a yearly event organized by PAARL which aims to bring together representatives from the different PAARLNet member academic/research libraries primarily to discuss possible collaboration between them. This year, the PAARLNet Convention will be done online due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This year, PAARLNet’s webinar theme is: “Modern Technology Applications in Libraries”. Our goal is to equip our members with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to address various challenges facing academic and research libraries with the help of modern, technological tools that may be used in various library operations. The annual PAARLNET Business Meeting will follow immediately after the seminar.
